چکیده
Aim: In 1998, Donald Nuss suggested the insertion of a metal bar behind sternum for pectus excavatum as minimally invasive technique. However, data regarding relation between age patient and clinical results repair is limited. Aim this study to compare surgery in different groups, point out optimal range procedure.
Material Methods: From February 2012 January 2020, 140 patients have been treated with surgery. We classified into three groups: younger than 15 years (group A), 20 B); older up 40 C) retrospectively. evaluated patients' demographics, compared surgery, duration hospitalization complication rates.
Results: One hundred ten were male 30 female. Male patients, symptomatic dyspnea preoperative period seen more frequently age, each statistically significant (p:0.003). early 30-day postoperative period, no mortality was observed. The most frequent complications observed group C (40,9%), followed by B (18,2%) A (9,6%)(p:0.007). logistic regression analysis, increased significantly Brace therapy performed 2 cases Group recurrence after removal which occurred adolescant period.
Conclusion: procedure can be recommended low rates, short term high grade success. Although childhood seems suitable complications, preferred rates period.

Pleural effusion complicating after Nuss procedure for pectus excavatum.
PURPOSE The Nuss procedure is a minimally invasive method for the correction of pectus excavatum (PE). Pleural effusion complicating following the Nuss procedure was uncommon but may be critical. We evaluated the risk factors of postoperative pleural effusion after Nuss repair. METHODS We included all patients with PE primarily corrected by Nuss procedure from July 2005 to December 2011. The ...
متن کاملAge-related change of postoperative pain location after Nuss procedure for pectus excavatum.
OBJECTIVE The present study aims to evaluate age-related change of postoperative pain after the Nuss procedure by referring to clinical cases, and to elucidate the biomechanical aetiology of the change by using the finite element method. METHODS Twelve paediatric patients (paediatric group: 9.4+/-2.3 years old) and 13 adult patients (adult group: 26.3+/-5.5 years old) who received the Nuss pr...
متن کاملThe Nuss procedure for pectus excavatum: evolution of techniques and early results on 322 patients.
BACKGROUND The Nuss procedure is a minimally invasive technique using a retrosternal bar to repair pectus excavatum. Although its technical simplicity and cosmetic advantages are remarkable, early applications have been limited to children with symmetrical pectus excavatum. We report a large single-institution experience including technical modifications to correct asymmetric configurations and...
متن کاملFirst Iranian Experience of the Minimally Invasive Nuss Procedure for Pectus Excavatum Repair: A Case Series and Literature Review
Pectus excavatum is the most common congenital deformity of the chest wall. The most frequently used techniques include Ravitch (costochondral resection) and Nuss (minimally invasive pectus repair of pectus excavatum [MIRPE]). The Nuss technique includes using temporary metallic bars without costochondral resection to correct the chest wall deformity. Modified MIRPE can be learned easily and pe...
متن کاملEfficacy and safety of modified bilateral thoracoscopy-assisted Nuss procedure in adult patients with pectus excavatum.
OBJECTIVE Several modifications for increasing the efficacy and safety of the minimally invasive surgery (Nuss procedure) for repair of pectus excavatum in pediatric patients were presented. In this study, we apply a modified bilateral thoracoscopic approach to adapt the Nuss procedure to adult patients. METHODS We prospectively included all adult patients with pectus excavatum corrected by m...
